I got a haircut today. I have the kind of fine but frizzy, wavy red hair that is impossible to style. When I was sixteen years old, I wore it down to my waist and it was nice, but, sadly, I’m not sixteen years old anymore. If I wear my hair down to my waist now, I am much more the mad librarian who owns eleven cats than a fairy princess. I spent the last few years desperately trying to find some possibility to look normal, but I constantly failed. My hair is unsuitable for the purpose of looking normal. At this moment I have a hairdo that makes me look a lot like Samantha Ewing from the early episodes of Dallas. This is not exactly what I had in mind when I asked for a new style but I’m not worried. I know it won’t last long; it never does. By tomorrow I will be my usual old self again, looking like a flock of sheep.

  1. Try a hat? A beret? Combs to keep it in place?

My wife has wavy/curly red hair, so I have some experience of this
