Today I went to the Ikea and that’s how it looks like there. I don’t really get the point of celebrating feasts two month earlier than their real datum. I strictly refuse to participate in this whole Christmas game until the first day of Advent.

Setting up the Maibaum (May Tree). On the first day of May is the feast of spring in Austria, celebrated with having fun and company while hearing bad music. It is the perfect opportunity for children to go wild, for women to wear traditional clothes (in Salzburg every day is dirndl day anyway) and for men to drink beer out of two-litres krüge, show their naked (and in fortunate case, well-formed) upper bodies, climb the Maibaum, and, well, behave the way Real Men did before Civilisation ruined their manners.
